Happy Birthday.

My grandmother died from colon cancer when my mom was just 15.

I never met her.

I’ve heard she was lovely and creative.

While I would have loved to have celebrated birthdays with her. And, wish my mom could have had her mom around longer, I am incredibly grateful for organizations like the American Cancer society.  There work has led to more birthdays for so many people.

They make a real difference every single day.

Here is a little something for you…. enjoy.

Paying it Forward.

Paying it forward is something I believe in 100%.

It’s something I practice each and every time the opportunity presents itself.

Whether it’s helping a friend with get a business started, treating a local family to an easier holiday or helping a neighbor string holiday lights,  paying it forward matters.

I know that I would be where I am today if others hadn’t paid it forward on to me.

Teaching my son to give has been a priority.  And, watching him grow into a young man who enjoys giving and seeks out ways to do so has been a true pleasure.

Coca Cola is paying it forward with their Artctic Home red cans.  You can help by texting package codes to357357 to make a $1 donattion to the WWF.  You can also donate points through MCR.com

I’d love to hear how you are paying it forward.

Or even better- a little something you’ll be doing to pay it forward this season.

Mama Bears.

“Mama Bear”.

If you are a mom, you’ve had a moment.

A moment you would do anything to protect your child.

I’ve had a few BIG mama bear moments over the past 11 years.

I have small ones everyday.

Like paying attention to the food I serve my family.

Or saying no, when it would be easier to say yes.

Or showering him in hugs and kisses.

Or laughing at all his jokes and listening to his stories.

Or cheering from the stands as he heads up to bat.

“Mama bear”.

The term comes from the animal world, but fits perfectly with us human mamas.

We would do anything we could for the protection and survival of our offspring.

Period.

Polar Bear mothers are natures example.

And right now, the future of their offspring is in jeopardy.

That’s why the  WWF and the work they do to protect polar bears is so important.

Right now, Coca Cola is working to support the WWF’s efforts by changing the classic red can to white.

I encourage you to check out the information and stats at Coca Cola’s Artic Home Site.

There, you can find information on polar bears, how to help and even a tracking tool {so cool}.

Its time we go “mama bear” and get fiercely protective over our world’s wild life so that its around for our children’s children.

What Can YOU do?

For everyone who texts the package code to 357357 to make a $1 donation to WWF, Coke will match it — up to $1 million! People can also make donations online at ArcticHome.com, starting November 1. The limited-edition white cans and bottle caps will be on store shelves November 1, 2011 to February 2012.

What are your “mama bear” moments?
